Nipani City Water Supply System is being maintained by CMC, Nipani.
The main source of water is Vedaganga River at Yamagarni Village at a
distance of 7.0km from Nipani
City.
Jawaharlal
water works Dam at a distance of 2.5km from Nipani town
with a storage capacity of 0.07TMC across Shirguppi
Nala.
During
rainy season the Dam is
being filled by this Shirguppi Nala and
during off
season no yield
will be their in Shirguppi Nala and Vedaganga River also.
Average daily yield from
these sources in the past One week:
There is
sufficient of water
upto 35ft in Jawaharlal water works Dam. Due to occasional rainfall in
the catchment area of the dam the requirement of Nipani Town in the
last One week is fulfilled by the JWW Dam, at a rate of
12lakhs
Gallons per day. Jackwel at Vedaganga River is operated in
the past One week.

After
closing of monsoon till the Vedaganga River flows in the River the
water is being lifted from River to JWW Dam, & being
distributed to
Nipani Town & the Dam water level is maintained upto FSL. Soon
after dried up Vedaganga River the stored water in JWW Dam is being
supplied to Nippani Town.

Water harvesting in the ULB:
The
Rain water
harvesting system is being insisted during issue of building permission
to each plot owners. The occuparcy certificate will be issued after verification of this system.
